What is the Assertive Community Treatment Team?

The Assertive Community Treatment Team (ACTT) provides support in the
community to people with a serious mental illness and complex needs.
A multi-disciplinary team of professionals offers clients intensive psychiatric,
rehabilitative and support services.

Who can benefit?

Women and men, 16 and over, with a serious mental illness and complex
service needs who have found it difficult to engage with other mental
health services are eligible for this program.

What are the major benefits?

The benefits of the program
are substantial and include:

  • Psychiatric assessment and
    ongoing treatment
  • Administration and monitoring
    of medication
  • Assistance and intervention
    during crises
  • Support with activities of
    daily living
  • Assistance accessing
    community resources including
    housing, income support,
    medical, legal, social,
    recreational, educational
    and vocational services
  • A focus on recovery
