FAME Family and Caregiver Support Services
Reconnect’s FAME Family and Caregiver Support Services offer a range of supports to family members and caregivers who have a loved one experiencing a mental health concern. Services include drop-in support groups, one-on-one counselling, and specialized programming for children and youth. Please see below to learn more about an individual service or program:
Reconnect offers confidential one-on-one supportive counselling for individuals and families. Counselling includes education, self-care, solution-focused assistance, and referrals to other community resources.
Telephone Support – One-on-one support can be provided by telephone or in the community. Some days it’s more difficult to cope and you need someone on the other end of the phone. Contact your local Family Support Worker for service.
Reconnect offers free monthly drop-in family support groups across the GTA and Peel Region. These groups are for family members and caregivers who support a loved one experiencing a mental health concern. Support groups are an excellent way for caregivers to practice self-care, learn from others with similar experiences, and build a supportive community. Groups are facilitated in a drop-in format by Reconnect’s Family Support Workers. See below for location and contact information for each group. Please call the Family Support Worker for your area before attending your first group.
