Mental Health & Justice:
Prevention Program

What is the Mental Health & Justice:
Prevention Program?

The Prevention Program serves women and
men with a mental illness who are (or are
likely to become) involved with the criminal
justice system. The program provides
responsive short-term case management
and helps individuals reduce or prevent
involvement with the criminal justice system.

Our program is part of a city-wide initiative.
We work with the following agencies to offer
this program across Toronto :
Canadian Mental Health Association –
Toronto Branch
,
COTA Health, Sound Times, Fred Victor Centre,
The Friendship Centre and
Central Toronto Youth Services.

Who can benefit?

Men and women, 16 and over, who have a
mental illness and are currently involved or
at significant risk of being involved with the
criminal justice system are eligible for
this program.
