ADS Personal Care Worker

Salary Rate: $40,483.63

Shift:

Shifts will rotate by-weekly

Monday to Friday 8.00am to 3.30pm

Monday to Friday 9.00am to 4.30pm

Monday to Friday 10.00am to 5.30pm

Monday to Friday 11.00am to 6.30pm

Saturday 9.00am to 4.00pm (the staff who works the Saturday will not work the Friday the same week)

 

As an Adult Day Services Personal Care Worker, you will provide personal care, assist with client participation in activities, and supervise clients.

 

What You'll Do:

You will be entrusted with a wide range of responsibilities, including:

  • Providing personal care to clients in a day service setting including assistance with toiletting, eating, and other personal care needs
  • Assist clients to participate in recreation, fitness, social and motivational activities
  • Watching wandering clients and maintaining a positive and calming atmosphere
  • Reporting client behavioural changes and other sources of concern to ADS Coordinator or manager
  • Escorting clients to and from transportation vehicles and assist the driver to embark and disembark clients
  • Other duties as required

 

What We're Looking For:

To thrive in this exciting role, we seek candidates with:

  • Working towards or completed Personal Support Worker Diploma or certificate with relevant experience
  • Proven experience working in a group living or long term care setting for one year or more
  • Good written and verbal language skills in English
  • Knowledge and experience working with seniors, frail elderly, chronically ill, cognitively impaired, and/or disabled individuals
  • Open availability
  • CPR/ First Aid Certification
  • Second language is an asset

 

Working Conditions:

  • Interacts with client, family members, staff, visitors and other care providers
  • May be exposed to infectious waste, diseases, conditions, etc., including exposure to the AIDS and hepatitis B and C viruses.
