Effective Change Management
Course Outline
Individuals have a difficult time coping with change. However, organizations must embrace change to stay competitive and thrive. Therefore, effectively leading groups through change has become a critical skill for leaders. Change management entails creating buy-in from stakeholders, demonstrating the advantage of change, ensuring the communication and completion of long-term goals, and, most importantly, offering resources and training to team members to help them develop and retain new skills. Leadership is vital to building a culture of trust and cooperation, a climate that embraces rolling with resistance, and the ability to foresee difficulties.
This workshop will provide leaders with the skills and knowledge to lead teams through transitions effectively. The examination of case studies, as well as role-playing and development of change management maps, will give leaders hands-on experience they can take back to implement with their teams.
Objectives:
- Educate participants on the nature of change, how it affects people and organizations and the implications of mismanagement.
- Explore resistance to change, why it happens and how leaders can anticipate and roll with resistance when implementing new practices and procedures.
- Discuss how leaders can equip themselves with the tools and skills needed to navigate and lead change.
- Explain strategies for creating buy-in by team members such as holding space for the sharing of ideas, concerns and values needed for the change process to take place.
Outcomes:
- Participants will leave with a clear understanding of the change process, its challenges, and implementation methods.
- Participants will be able to define resistance, and articulate strategies leaders can use to roll with resistance during the change process.
- Attendees will be able to articulate the critical role of communication in the change process, as well as develop skills to create a climate of transparency and trust.
- Participants will identify how to create buy-in among team members.
