Course Outline
This short, practical course is designed for beginners and intermediate users working in health service environments who want to get started with Microsoft Power BI. Whether you're a business analyst, data analyst, or someone tasked with turning health data into actionable insights, this session will give you the foundational skills needed to begin working confidently in Power BI.
Participants will learn how to connect to health-related data sources (like Excel or CSV files), clean and prepare data, and build clear, interactive reports. The course offers a mix of demonstrations and hands-on practice, including a guided exercise using mock health service data. No prior experience with Power BI is required.
Trainer Bio
Francesco Sijinardo is the Director, Services for Seniors and Performance Improvement at Reconnect Community Health Services, and Sessional Course Director at York University's School of Health Policy and Management teaching Quality Improvement and Performance Measurement. He holds a Master’s degree in Health Evaluation from the University of Waterloo, is a credentialed evaluator with the Canadian Evaluation Society, and is trained and certified in Lean and Six Sigma. Francesco has led the design and implementation of multiple program evaluations for mental health, addictions, seniors’ services, and digital health initiatives in the community sector.
