Job Summary:
Reconnect is seeking a skilled and dedicated Kinesiologist to join our organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing clients’ physical abilities, developing and implementing customized exercise and physical rehabilitation programs, conducting health promotion workshops, measuring client progress, and promoting overall health and wellness in accordance with the mandate of the organization and standards set by the College of Kinesiologists of Ontario (COKO).
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough assessments of clients’ physical abilities, movement patterns, and overall health status using evidence-based techniques.
- Design and implement personalized exercises and rehabilitation programs tailored to individual client needs and goals.
- Regularly monitor, measure, and document clients' progress, making necessary adjustments to programs to ensure optimal outcomes.
- Work collaboratively with teams, staff, and programs across the organization to provide comprehensive and integrated care.
- Educate clients on health, fitness, and injury prevention principles to promote long-term well-being and physical activity.
- Ensure all practices and treatments comply with the standards and guidelines set COKO, maintaining high ethical and professional standards.
- Provide ongoing support and motivation to clients, addressing any concerns and adapting programs as needed to ensure client satisfaction and progress.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology or related field from an accredited institution. Candidates in the process of completing a degree will be considered.
- Must be registered and in good standing with the College of Kinesiologists of Ontario (COKO). Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a community, clinical, or rehabilitation setting is preferred.
- Strong understanding of human anatomy, biomechanics, and exercise physiology.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to develop and modify exercise programs for diverse populations.
- Proficiency in using fitness assessment tools, software, and electronic health records.
Special Requirements:
- Criminal background check;
- Must be willing to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends, as required.
Please be advised that in order to be eligible for employment at Reconnect, all new hires must have received both doses of a COVID-19 vaccine approved by Health Canada prior to their start date and will be required to show proof.
