The Human Resources Manager as a strategic member of the HR team, assisting the Director to align HR strategy with organizational objectives and to ensure that all human resources operations are delivered in the most effective and efficient manner possible. This role also oversees the front office administrative team to ensure a high standard of customer service and operational support, and manages the volunteer services program to engage, recruit, and retain a strong volunteer base.
What You'll Do:
You will be entrusted with a wide range of responsibilities, including:
- Manages, documents, implements and communicates Reconnect’s employment practices (policies and procedures) that support the achievement the mandate of the organization;
- Ensures that Reconnect conforms to all applicable employment-related legislation, specifically, The Employment Standards Act, 2000, The Human Rights Code and The Occupational Health & Safety Act;
- Ensures that all labour related issues are addressed promptly, consistently and in a manner that is consistent with the policies and culture of the organization;
- Ensures that all HR services and functions are delivered in a professional manner and according to established guidelines and associated benchmarks;
- Ensures that all employment records are accurate and complete;
- Works with the Director to design, lead, and implement large-scale HR programs and initiatives in areas such as workforce planning, organizational design and leadership development;
- Champion and manage complex change initiatives;
- Provide direct coaching and development support to the management team to enhance their effectiveness in team building, performance management, and employee development;
- Lead cross-functional HR projects with clear scope, deliverables, and timelines, engaging stakeholders across departments to achieve alignment and outcomes;
- Develop and implement strategies for volunteer recruitment, training, and retention;
- Supervise staff of the Human Resources team, front-office administrative team and the Volunteer Services team.
The successful candidate will possess:
- Completion of an approved post-secondary level Human Resources Management Certification program,
- CHRP or CHRL designation, required,
- 6-8 + years of progressive HR experience, preferably in a non-profit organization,
- Sound knowledge of relevant legislation (The Employment Standards Act, 2000, The Human Rights Code and The Occupational Health & Safety Act, etc.)
